Prep Time: 45 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Yields: 15 kabobs

Description[]

Here is a fun and patriotic treat that the kids and adults will love! This delicious colorful combination of cake, marshmallow, and strawberries is sure to please. Can also be served with whipped cream, use a can of spray whipped cream for easy application to the kabob.

Ingredients[]

  • White cake recipe or box mix (I used the 4th of July funetti box from Pillsbury)
  • Large marshmallows
  • Candy melts in blue and red
  • 2" Star cookie cutter
  • Strawberries
  • Wax paper
  • Bamboo skewers
  • Assorted 4th of July sprinkles

Directions[]

Step One: Prepare your white cake recipe per the instructions. Add some sprinkles into the batter. I added the packet that came inside the funfetti box and also added some red, white and blue star sprinkles. Instead of pouring the batter into a 9x13 or round cake pans, pour it into a half sheet cookie sheet. It needs to be 18x13". Step Two: Bake in a 350F oven for 25 mins. Step Three: Melt the red and blue candy melts in a coffee mug and and then put the marshmallows on the end of a skewer and slowly turn covering the marshmallow. Cover the candy coating in sprinkles as well and let the marshmallow dry on a plate. Step Four: Once the cake has cooled get out your star cookie cutter and cut out cake stars. Once you have cut out all of the stars, set out all of your ingredients out and lay out wax paper. Step Five: Begin assembling the skewers in whatever order you want but make sure you have two inches of room on the bottom of the skewer to hold .
